Frequently Asked Questions
Expertly crafted answers for high-performance cycling components.
What makes Chris King bearings different from others?
We manufacture our own stainless steel bearings in-house in Portland, Oregon. This allows us to control the quality and tolerances to a degree that off-the-shelf bearings cannot match, resulting in components that get smoother as they wear in.
How do I register my product for the Lifetime Warranty?
You can register your components on our website under the 'Support' section. Our Lifetime Warranty covers any functional failure of our manufactured parts for the lifetime of the original owner.
How often should I service my King hubs and headsets?
We recommend a basic clean and re-grease once a year for most riders. If you frequently ride in wet or muddy conditions, we suggest more frequent maintenance to ensure maximum longevity and performance.
What is the current lead time for custom wheel builds?
Standard orders typically ship within 3-5 business days. For custom wheel builds and specific color requests, please allow 2-4 weeks for precision assembly and rigorous quality testing.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship our precision components to cyclists worldwide. Shipping rates and duties are calculated at checkout based on your specific location and the weight of the order.
Can I upgrade my older hubs to a different axle standard?
Many of our hub designs are modular. We offer various axle conversion kits that allow you to adapt your existing King hubs to new frame or fork standards, such as converting from QR to Thru-Axle.
